Marie-Claire McCubbery is a counselling psychologist and Member of the Australian Psychological Society (MAPS) with over 15 years of clinical experience. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, a Postgraduate Diploma in Psychology, and a Master's in Counselling Psychology — qualifications that underpin a practice grounded in both academic rigour and genuine human connection. Marie-Claire works with individuals aged 14 and over and couples across two Melbourne locations: Heidelberg West and Richmond. Her areas of expertise include trauma and PTSD, anxiety, depression, grief, life transitions, relationship difficulties, parenting concerns, coping and adjustment, and couples counselling. She has a particular interest in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) for both individuals and couples, and draws on a broad range of evidence-based modalities including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Schema Therapy, Mindfulness-Based Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, and Psychodynamic Therapy. Using a person-centred, collaborative approach, Marie-Claire works alongside her clients to build self-awareness, shift unhelpful patterns, and foster lasting change. Telehealth appointments are available, and Marie-Claire also conducts sessions in fluent Spanish.
