Rob combines independent scientific evidence with a compassionate, values-based approach to care. Alongside his clinical work, he trains psychologists, doctors and other health professionals in ACT and closely follows emerging developments in psychology, psychiatry and psychopharmacology.

Rob has a particular interest in ACT, evidence-based psychopharmacology and the careful use of psychiatric medication. He has particular expertise in antidepressant tapering and deprescribing, using individualised, science-based approaches to help minimise withdrawal symptoms and support long-term wellbeing.

Following his medical and specialist psychiatric training, Rob undertook extensive further training in the theory and practice of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), including its application to both psychotherapy and pharmacotherapy. He is also a Clinical Senior Lecturer in Psychiatry at the University of Queensland.
