2 reviews about Dr Nigel Hope
Was a very nice pain that actually took time listened and asked questions
Hopeless
As a surgeon I have no complaints. He operated on me twice, performing anterior total hip replacements.
My experience of his post-surgical performance is mixed. Over the course of years post surgery I was plagued by pain and compromised mobility that he put down to a need for more physio.
When I informed him that 2nd and 3rd opinions I had received from other highly-respected orthopaedic surgeons had both diagnosed a “grossly loose femoral stem” his response was “that’s an interesting phrase”.
I requested my patient notes and his insurer details on 2 occasions from his office and him personally. Over 2 months later I have received nothing.
I have subsequently had a total hip revision performed by another surgeon with over 20 years experience in complicated cases. He said it was the loosest femoral stem he had ever seen.
I accept that Dr Hope performed both my surgeries successfully. Just don’t rely on his ability to diagnose subsequent problems.
My own learning was that getting a 2nd opinion can be crucially important.
