Manisha is a registered psychologist (clinical registrar) with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA). Originally from India, she has been registered as a counselling psychologist in India since 2017 and completed her PhD in Clinical Psychology at Flinders University. Since moving to Australia in 2022, Manisha has worked with child protection services, supporting young people and their families through trauma-focused and strengths-based interventions. She also brings extensive experience working with individuals recovering from interpersonal and complex traumatic experiences, including survivors of sexual violence, domestic violence, and trafficking. Her doctoral research at Flinders University explored the intersections of culture, trauma, shame, and identity, which continues to inform her interest in supporting clients from diverse cultural backgrounds. Manisha has a particular interest in helping clients navigate the impacts of trauma, including post-traumatic stress disorder, complex PTSD, anxiety, depression, grief, and relationship difficulties. She is trained in Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), and her therapeutic approach also draws on Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), mindfulness-based approaches, psychodynamic and attachment-based frameworks, and Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT). Alongside her clinical work, Manisha lectures in graduate and postgraduate psychology and social work programs, teaching topics including trauma, violence, and abuse. She integrates her roles as practitioner, researcher, and educator to ensure her work remains grounded in current evidence-based and trauma-informed practice.
